Under BBC Media Action’s BRACED initiative, we produced public service announcements (PSAs) and a radio series to help Myanmar’s communities prepare for extreme weather. Featuring real-life stories, these campaigns offered practical, low-cost tips for emergencies, like safeguarding important documents during floods. Informed by audience research, the project empowered people with actionable solutions to build resilience.
This project marked my transition from journalism to filmmaking and my first experience as a director. I conducted research, developed scripts, and managed all stages of filmmaking, including pre-production, shooting, and editing. I directed four short television programs, produced, wrote, and voiced radio programs, and contributed articles to the BBC Media Action Blog. As part of the first video production team at BBC Media Action, I played a key role in creating television and radio PSAs on natural disasters and resilience, gaining invaluable experience in both narrative and documentary storytelling.
